Huairasinchi is a supported race, every team must have at least one 4x4 wheel drive car with two persons and a maximum of two 4x4 wheel drive car with four persons. This will be your support crew, with whom you will meet only at the transition zones.
Support Team car rental:
Huairasinchi is a race that requires assistance; therefore all teams must have a support crew with at least 1 car and 2 people and a maximum of 2 cars with 4 people. Race organization can help each team make the reservation for the vehicle but on arrival to Quito they must pick it up, pay the fee and then return it. We suggest that international teams rent a 4 wheel drive pickup truck to transport the entire team and all the equipment.
Both National and International teams can rent pickup trucks or cars from AVIS RENT A CAR and pay the special Huairasinchi fee:
Option 1: (Double cabin, 4 wheel drive pickup truck / 5 days) $ 646.58
Includes: Unlimited mileage, insurance/total protection
Does NOT include: driver, gas nor extra days
Option 2: (5 door, 4 wheel drive car / 5 days) $ 782.60
Includes: Unlimited mileage, insurance/total protection
Does NOT include: driver, gas nor extra days
The reservation must be made at least 20 days prior as availability may change.
In the case that the team does not finish the race, the vehicle should be returned and the fee will only be for the days that it was used.
Rental Requirements:
Credit card guarantee
Minimum age of 21
Valid licence that is at least 2 years old
ID card or passport
The vehicle must be picked up by the individuals who will be driving during the race and the person who will pay.
