Team Communication # 2 (Feb. 7)
Online Registration:
The deadline for changes on the online registration is Friday 10td of February, 2012. It is every team’s responsibility to complete this process. National teams also must need to print it and to take the Risk Acknowledgement form to the EXPLORER stores in malls Quicentro Shopping and El Jardin. International teams will be filling these in during Registration on the 17th of February, 2012. The teams that did not complete the registration until this deadline will receive their maps two hours later than the rest of the teams.
Important notes about the emergency radio:
The radios will be given to each team during Registration on the 17th of February 2012 after being sealed by the organization.
After receiving their radio, each team becomes completely responsible for it. After the race, international teams must make sure to return their radio to the organization, be it at the finish line or during the prize giving ceremony. This applies to all international teams, even in the case that they have to drop out. National teams have to return the radio at the ACESORIOS SOLUTIONS S.A. until Thursday 23rd of February 2012. If there are any damages, the $400.00 guarantee will not be returned.
AVIS Rent a Car
The people who are interested in renting a vehicle from AVIS for Huairasinchi must do so as soon as possible as their availability is becoming scarce due to the national holiday that is coming up. For more details on renting a car from AVIS click here.
Assistance during the race
During the race, both National and International teams will have a minimum of two and a maximum of four people on their support team. Assistance, integration or general help from any people who are not on your support crews during the route or in transition zones will be cause for penalizations. Families and friends are welcome to watch and cheer on team members across the route but any kind of help from them will be penalized.
Press Conference
The press conference for Huairasinchi Chevrolet 2012 will be on Wednesday 8th of February at 11:00 am in the Eugenio Espejo Convention Centre. We invite all the racers who wish to assist and talk to the press about their training, preparation and expectations for Huairasinchi 2012 to assist.
Support Team Details
During the race, support teams will have to drive for several hours and must rest when they wait for their teams in transition areas. We have calculated that the average distance that teams will drive will be 400km each day. We advise that you start to plan how you will coordinate shifts between the driver and copilot while also factoring in time to rest and eat. Check that your driving licenses are up to date and that the vehicles you will be driving have both registration and insurance. The route for support teams is such that it will require that at least one of the vehicles is 4X4 and during some parts of the race, we will request that only this car goes to the transition areas. Please prepare your team with these recommendations in mind.
